SOFT THINGS
A production by Rose Beermann and Iva Sveshtarova.
A project of A25 Cultural Foundation, realized in collaboration with DNK – space for contemporary dance and performance, TATWERK | Performative Forschung, Aula im Milchhof e.V., the residency program schloss broellin e.V.. Funded by the Hauptstadtkulturfonds and Ministry of Culture of Bulgaria.
In Soft Things, two bodies explore the ostensible parallels of softness and femininity, as they travel through different forms of being. Softness has both a highly symbolic quality and is simultaneously a central dimension of corporeality – be it human or non-human. Associated with plasticity, fragility and delicacy, but also with flexibility and submissiveness, softness is often considered to be an explicitly feminine attribute. In this performance, two bodies go through a hard process in order to become soft things.
